Fu and I returned from TX today. We went down there to see some of my family and as a 6 month wedding anniversary gift to ourselves. We left Saturday morning and spent that day at Dad & Deanna's just hanging out and talking. Matt cooked some steaks out on the grill, Deanna baked some potatoes, and I made deviled eggs and a cake. Nice heart-attack inducing dinner - don't you think? :) Then Fu and I retired to our hotel and overheard the people in the next room goin' at it for an extended period of time. Makes for interesting conversation - let me tell ya!

So, Sunday we got up, went to Dad's for breakfast and to pick up Matt and headed on into Dallas. Fu had never been so I wanted to take him to lower Greenville and Deep Ellum and downtown and just all the sights and sounds that surrounded me during my college days. Oh one other thing, he decided Saturday night as we were lying in bed that he wanted to get a second tattoo, so also on our list of places to see (and get inked) was Tigger's. Our first mistake was to not eat lunch prior to the tattooing. We drove through Dealy Plaza and past the Crescent Hotel and then into Deep Ellum and to Tigger's. We go in, Fu tells the man what he wants and we pay. The guy behind the counter says we should only have to wait 20 MAYBE 30 minutes. Yeah - 4 HOURS later Fu finally sits down to be inked. No seriously - we waited for FOUR FREAKING HOURS!!! But that's okay because we really didn't have anything else to do (except eat) that day anyway. And really, how many people can say that they once spent a whole Sunday afternoon in a tattoo parlor waiting room watching a crackhead try to steal money out of a parking lot honor pay booth? (okay maybe several - but it is a select group!)

And today we came home. Not much to talk about. Oh, but if you ever stay at that brand new Motel 6 off White Street in McKinney, TX - make sure you don't stay in room 207. The deadbolt on that door doesn't work. But then I told the desk clerk that this morning, so hopefully they will get that looked at PRONTO!!

Fu can tell you all about the signs we saw, Jeromiah's funny name for a whoopee cushion, and details about his tattoo and the crackhead. I have to go iron his shirt for work tomorrow.
