The One with the Pug Diarrhea

Have I mentioned the dog diarrhea episode? No?

Well, Christmas Eve Eve, Fu got up to let the dogs out (remember it's 3 now) and then suddenly began yelling my name. As I jumped from our warm bed and rounded the corner into the living room I saw that he had a most disgusting look upon his face. As I got closer I realized that Zoey had experienced a bad case of explosive diarrhea. And I'm not exagerating. It shot out of her little pug ass and into Dudley's crate, nay, not just Dud's crate, but Dud himself. Poor Dud, he was just laying there looking up at us as if to say, "Look as what that bitch has done now I am covered in and laying in her poop. Thanks!"

And Oz, well he had avoided being covered in it, but was pressed up against the opposite side of his crate as she had managed to get his pillow as well. (See her crate sits inbetween Dud & Oz's.)

So, we ushered them all outside and began to clean. Luckily, a few months back we removed the carpet in the living room and hall and finished it out in large stone looking ceramic tile (as in the entryway). So, we didn't have to contend with poo in carpet! Whew!

Anyway, we got it all cleaned up and then brought the dogs in to get them cleaned up. Poor Dud, he had to have a bath. Oz was cleaned but we gave him a little washclothing anyway, just to be safe. Then Zoey. Now I think I failed to mention that the inside of her crate looked as if she had shat everywhere and then proceeded to do a little jingo-jango in it. It was EVERYWHERE!! So, obviously, it was our assumption that being that her coat was black we just couldn't see the excessive amounts of poo on her. Yeah well, we were wrong. We washed her and washed her and washed her and NOTHING!! Not even one tiny bit of poo!

How could that be? How is that dogily possible? All I can figure is that she is part bat and just hung from the roof of her crate all night.

Anyway, to shorten this up a bit. Later that afternoon, another poo accident in the entryway. Then the next morning (Christmas Eve - NASH!) again with the poo-fest in the crates. So, we took her to the vet deciding that something was wrong.

Turns out the antibiotics that she was taking after her surgery had thrown off things inside and VOILA! diarrhea. So a couple of doggie Imodiums and some active culture yogurt mixed in with her food and she's cured.

Thank goodness too, 'cause I don't know if I could have got up to dog shit on Christmas morning! UGH!

Anyway, that's been the high and lowlight of our week. Oh and I bought a new pillow pattern and toile material to make decorative throws for Fu's mom to use in her new house. Oh, did I not mention that she is selling the lake house? Well she is. It sucks, for me at least, but it really is the best thing for her. She is moving from GA to Dothan, AL to be near Fu's sister and her family. It is her only grandbaby, so who can blame her? Not me.

Anyway, we'll probably be going out there sometime this spring to visit everyone. I'm really looking forward to it. Well the being there at least. Driving for 16 hours in a car with three pugs - that should be interesting.
